Wood and Bone Necklace

The novel wooden beads of this stunning necklace are crafted from bits of a Colorado pine forest.  Each segment of wood has been selected for the unique etchings carved into it by engraver beetles, who bore through the outer bark of downed branches to feed on the cambium and inner phloem tissue, leaving distinctive engraved galleries under the bark.  The double strands of wooden beads  are interspersed with bleached and sanded chicken vertebrae, creating a unique and distinctive necklace. 

Wood and Bone necklace is 32 inches in length, and weighs 3.4 ounces.
